Amazon Alexa Playing Catch up to Google

It took Amazon Alexa two generations with six devices to bring out the same skill that Google Home has been able to perform since April. Following the Madebygoogle event on October 4th, where Google announced an extension to their hardware line, Amazon are pushing a new update to all Alexa devices to perform a copied skill from Google.

The ability to detect individual users and deliver personal responses according to the users account.

To enable this feature you can set up the voice profiles in your Alexa companion app, after your device has been updated.

This is an extremely handy skill to have in a voice enabled assistant, so it’s about time Amazon Added this function to Alexa’s repertoire.
